“Skateboarding, and a lot of things” (the importance of frequent repetition in bragging to your daughter).

We voted to make November 18 our official “Adventure Lunch Day.”

Kicked it off by having an Autumn picnic in the driveway, amidst green trees and yellow leaves. Billions of them.

We dined on peanut butter sandwiches (Dave’s Killer variety), and we chatted about our family rules regarding peanut butter (Adams only, never refrigerate), and we also briefly discussed the weather. It’s chilly.

Bonus:

Later, somewhere else, we observed skateboarders trying to jump stairs. I explained how I am very good at skateboarding, and how they are not. I need to make a reminder to keep telling her that. My hope is that she never questions or doubts me enough to demand I show her. Sometimes you need to build up the legend and then retire before you have to prove anything.

People kept telling the skaters to leave. They did not. We kept watching, and it was a wonderful opportunity for us to bond as we watched them, and I continued reiterating how incredibly skilled I am at skating, and how it’s a bummer I don’t have a deck on me.

Also, we listened to Raffi’s Baby Beluga, which is very catchy.
