Journal entry for Wednesday, January 6, 2021:

This is not the son whose food went missing.

This is not the son whose food went missing.

One of our sons dished himself up a bowl of noodles, then got distracted and set it down somewhere in our house.

Somewhere.

We have looked all over. Including the freezer, oven, bathrooms, garage, and front porch. It is missing.

It is inevitable that it will be found, and it is also inevitable that our 1-year old will be the first to find, and will divide his time between quietly eating half of it and spreading the other half on a Trail of Red Pasta Carnage throughout our home.

The good news is that my optimism is well-placed, I think. It’ll show up.

Full day. Oh, and also the the U.S. Capitol was attacked by domestic terrorists trying to reverse election results after the current President encouraged, suggested, directed, and incited them to take action. There was that too.

So, full day! My prediction is that we find the missing bowl on January 20. Possibly before. I’d love to be wrong.
