Candy, money, love.

6.25pm

Just found out the kids are coming trick or treating with us. So much for adult's night out.

7.20pm

"You are so strong, my little alien pirate,"
I said to my son, not unkindly.
"Would you like me to carry your heavy candy bag for you?"

He nodded in the affirmative.

So innocent.

My mom used to say "We're rich...rich with love."

Sometimes I like to say: "We're rich...rich with candy, and maybe we could trade some of our candy for more money, and then have a trifecta of money, candy, and love."

But then I think: Two out of three is pretty great.

And then I think: I'll just eat it while the children are sleeping, so they don't have to visit the dentist any more than is absolutely necessary.

Such a good feeling to be rich. There is lots of candy and love in this picture, but not money, because that is buried in our back yard where it's safe. I'm guessing it's obvious who I am, but for those who are unfamiliar with the A. Conan Doyle canon, I am Bill Holmes. A relative of Sherlock, and probably slightly smarter.

Happy last day of October, world.

Floss tonight, and tip your hygienist well next time.
