Christmas love songs for Count Olaf.

Yes, we are listening to Christmas music this morning. Yes, at a very loud volume. Yes, it is the Carpenters on vinyl. No, surprisingly I am not the DJ behind this morning's soundtrack, but I fully support it. Sometimes I almost suspect that Countess Becca and I are a very good match. Merry Christmas, world. Go put on an elf hat and treat yourself to a Sunday pumpkin spice latte. The big day's almost here.

I recently found out - and this may sound silly and trite - but I was so excited to discover that Daniel Handler (a.k.a. Lemony Snicket), the genius behind one of the best children's series ever, A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS, is also an accomplished accordionist and, in fact, played said instrument prominently on one of the best albums ever about Love - the triple album opus from Magnetic Fields concretely titled 69 Love Songs, which exactly as implied, is 69 tracks of indie magic revolving around the theme of...love. And Daniel Handler/Lemony Snicket played accordion with his buddies on it. Rad.

Brought me joy, along with a tiny smudge of resentment. What's next? Christopher Nolan secretly plays backup catcher for the Giants?

Other things that bring me joy (below).
