What do you bring?

What do you bring to the world? To whatever space you inhabit, what do you bring?

You will fill it with something. There is no such thing as not changing what’s around you. To riff off that one idea in quantum physics: your very presence changes, even in the most subtle way, the dynamic of the environment.

J.M. Long and Lanessa Cherie Long.

So what do you fill the space around with?

If you’re short on ideas, hang out with these two. They fill their spaces with a lot. I love them as my siblings and I respect and admire them as musicians…

…and I enjoy constantly the presence they bring and the ways they fill every situation with thoughtfulness, humor, wit, kindness, and a willingness to bring music in some form to every day.

There is great music in every day somewhere; you just gotta find it. If you’re with them, you will have found it.

Energy may not be created or destroyed, but it does transfer. So how do we share our best energy with others?

How do we empower those around to become stronger; to have the confidence and strength and humility to say:

I am going to give the world my best. I am going to become stronger by helping those around me become stronger.

Rather than ripping others down and absorbing the adrenaline rush of negative energy that comes when you’re stomping down those around you…

…I am going to do what I can to make others stronger too. That whole ‘rising tide’ deal.

Find people, hang out with people who can also do this for you.

I have.
