Martin Luther King, Jr. and street sweepers.

“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Ahead and together we bumble forward and sideways into the unknown.

Overheard conversations

“I can’t have ibuprofen,”
she explained to her friend.
”There’s all kinds of stuff I can’t have that counteract my other pain meds.”
You know what feels good?

She didn’t wait for a response.
”Those jet showers at hotels. I can stay in there for hours.”

Her friend laughed.
”I don’t even take showers.”

People talk about what a big deal courtside seats are,
but personally I think there's plenty of charm to a bird's eye view.
