TAKE ME AWAY TO THAT SPECIAL PLACE...
...Where I can hear Guns N' Roses Sweet Child O' Mine again for the first time, and listen to it just enough to never grow tired. One of the greatest songs ever, but I don't know if I'll be able to fully appreciate it again, due to oversaturated listening. I'm tired of it. And I don't know if I'll ever feel the magic again. I want to feel the goosebumps on that opening solo one more time. Sad.

...what's the difference between those and say...Ben E. King's Stand by Me, or a-ha's Take On Me? Or Arcade Fire's Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) or Liszt's Liebestraum? Music I will never grow weary of.
One of the great things about having children is getting a little of that back -
getting to see others - with no battle-hardened ears or listening fatigue - experience and fall in love with some of those things for the first time.
Others you wish you still loved...but just don't enjoy anymore?
